Why is Fundraising so Important?

The Nursery Education Funding received and the fees charged for non funded sessions barely covers the cost of the staff wages and hall rent for the pre-school. This means that fundraising is essential to cover the costs of stationery, equipment, craft materials, books, toys, mandatory staff training courses etc. Without fundraising the pre-school would have to close. Fortunately we have been lucky enough to have generous parents both past and present who have given up their time to help us fundraise.

Fundraising Meetings

These are held in a parent's home, usually in the morning. Parents are welcome to bring children with them. Please check the News Page for dates of the next meeting.

Fundraising Committee

Edlesborough Under 5's has a fundraising committee separate from the pre-school committee. The chair of the fundraising committee attends the general committee meeting to report on fundraising activities. The fundraising committee meets regularly to discuss fundraising ideas and plan events. Tasks for events are shared and people can volunteer to take on one task or arrange a whole event. The more people that join the committee the more the tasks can be shared and the more fun there is. The Fundraising Committee is always open to new ideas.

Currently there are only 2 members on the Fundraising Committee. We desperately need more members to help organise events. Fundraising is vital to the continuation of the pre-school. Please please, please come to our fundraising meetings and help us fundraise for your pre-school. Even if you don't want to join the committee, you can attend the meetings or just let the chair know how you would like to help.

The fundraising committee also organises some events that do not usually raise funds such as the Christmas & Halloween parties. These events are extremely popular. If you want these events to continue, we need people to help.
